• RECAP: Verizon’s ‘How Sweet The Sound’ Detroit 2011

    Even after the show began, consumers were still on line trying to get tickets to the hottest show in town. Verizon’s How Sweet the Sound was co-hosted by Donald Lawrence and CeCe Winans. Judges Marvin, Sapp, Fred Hammond and Kurt Carr are always a crowd favorite, but last night they shared the spotlight with The Anointed Voices of Higher Ground Young Adult Choir.

    • Large Category Regional Winner – Calvary Sanctuary Choir of The Calvary Church/United Pentecostal Church International of Cincinnati, Ohio. Awarded $10,000
    • Small/Medium Category Regional Winner – The Anointed Voices of Higher Ground Young Adult Choir of Higher Ground Always Abounding Assemblies, Inc. of Columbus, Ohio. – Awarded $10,000
    • Verizon Video People’s Choice Award Winner – The Apostolic Church Sanctuary Choir of The Apostolic Church of Auburn Hills, Mich. Awarded $5,000
    • HopeLine Winner – The Apostolic Church Sanctuary Choir of The Apostolic Church of Auburn Hills, Mich. Awarded $1,000 (Winner collected 538 phones/accessories for HopeLine; Total Received -1,750)
