• Hypocrisy 101: Is The United States Guilty Of Terrorism?

UNARMED PREDATOR DRONEWhen President Barack Obama assured a nation in upheaval that one of the suspected terrorists behind the Boston Marathon bombing, Dzhokhar Tsarnaev, 19, would be brought to justice, and several media reports vilified Islam and the Chechen people in desperate attempts to disassociate two Caucasian men who had lived in the United States most of their lives from White America at-large, the arguably hypocritical outrage did not go unnoticed by many, including one very brave McClatchy journalist, Amina Ismail.

During a White House press briefing, Ismail directly asked White House Press Secretary Jay Carney  a simple question:

I send my deepest condolence to the victims and families in Boston. But President Obama said that what happened in Boston was an act of terrorism.

I would like to ask, Do you consider the U.S. bombing on civilians in Afghanistan earlier this month that left 11 children and a woman killed a form of terrorism? Why or why not?

The children, ages 1 to 12, were killed along with a woman when a home allegedly thought to be holding a Taliban suspect was bombed. Five women were also wounded. Read about this latest known U.S. bombing of innocent children here and see them lovingly garbed for their funeral below:

Carney tap-danced around the question and finally came up with this:

Well, I would have to know more about the incident and then obviously the Department of Defense would have answers to your questions on this matter. We have more than 60,000 U.S. troops involved in a war in Afghanistan, a war that began when the United States was attacked, in an attack that was organized on the soil of Afghanistan by al Qaeda, by Osama bin laden and others and more than 3,000 people were killed in that attack. And it has been the President’s objective once he took office to make clear what our goals are in Afghanistan and that is to disrupt, dismantle and ultimately defeat al Qaeda. And with that as our objective to provide enough assistance to Afghan National Security Forces and the Afghan government to allow them to take over security for themselves. And that process is underway and the United States has withdrawn a substantial number of troops and we are in the process of drowning down further as we hand over security lead to Afghan forces. And it is certainly the case that I refer you to the defense department for details that we take great care in the prosecution of this war and we are very mindful of what our objectives are.

As previously reported by NewsOne, the United States has engaged in a one-sided drone war that has killed an estimated 216 innocent children.

Appearing on the radio with his comrade-in-arms, Tavis Smiley, Dr. Cornel West criticized the Commander-in-Chief  (who did not start the drone war, but has expanded it) for a strategic decision which seeks to minimize the loss of American lives by utilizing drone warfare that is both indiscriminate and inhumane.

“I think, my dear brother, the chickens are coming home to roost,” West told Smiley. “We’ve been talking about this for a good while, the immorality of drones, dropping bombs on innocent people. It’s been over 200 children so far. These are war crimes.”

Below is a list of children who have lost their lives because of drones authorized by President George W. Bush and President Obama. I purposely list them in the middle of this article so that while people more concerned with patriotism than humanity can pretend they don’t exist, they will have to scroll past their names to do so.

RELATED: 8-Year-Old Boy Killed In Boston Blast Showed Support For Trayvon Martin

So we can cheer the death of suspected bomber Tamerlan Tsarnaev, 26, and the capture of Dzhokhar, and rightfully mourn the loss of 8-year-old Martin Richard, and the other innocent people killed and injured in the heinous attack on Boston, but let’s not wrap ourselves in the U.S. flag and pretend that we are morally above reproach.

Often times, the only difference between justice and terrorism is whose side you’re on.
