    MICHIGAN TECHNICAL ACADEMY HOSTS FREE COMMUNITY RESOURCE FAIR FOR FAMILIES

    (DETROIT,—April 12, 2013)  The Michigan Technical Academy (MTA) will host a one day community resource fair on Thursday, May 2, 2013 from 4:30-7:30 p.m. The outreach initiative, featuring more than 30 youth and family service organizations, will take place at   MTA, 19940 Mansfield in Detroit.   This event is free and open to the public.

    In addition to learning about healthy living and eating, attendees can also take part in fitness and dance classes including: yoga, zumba and salsa.  Information about housing and employment assistance, utility enrollment and budgeting, and food assistance will be available for parents.

    Participating organizations include: Detroit Parent Network, Gleaners Community Food Bank, Healthy Detroit, St. Vincent DePaul, United Way, Nardly Human Services, The Children’s Center, Northwest Detroit Youth Coalition, Grandmont Rosedale Development Corp., and more.
