pastor-killed-over-music1(DETROIT) – Today the Change Agent Consortium will hold a memorial and prayer vigil for slain Detroit pastor Tim Kirby who was gunned down last week after asking his neighbors to turn down their party music. The memorial will take place at 8594 Heritage Pl., Detroit, MI 48204. CAC plans to raise funds to purchase back to school supplies for Pastor Kirby’s children. Members of Kirby’s family will be in attendance at today’s vigil.

Pastor Kirby's death is disappointing. This act of senseless violence is sad and unacceptable. Today we honor and remember Pastor Kirby, pray for his family and perpetrator while calling for peace in Detroit. In addition to peace, we are calling on the Detroit Police Department to make this a priority case. Trayvon's murder angered us and we stood up. Kirby's murder is a wake up call so we must stand up against all acts of senseless violence,” said David Alexander Bullock, Change Agent Consortium national spokesperson.

Kirby was shot three times by one of the irate partygoers. As of earlier this week the Detroit police had no new updates regarding the murder. Pastor Kirby will be laid to rest tomorrow in Alabama.
