Michigan Career and Technical Institute Registration DayIs Sept. 10; Fall Term Begins Sept. 12
Lansing, Mich- Sept. 5, 2013. The Michigan Career and Technical Institute (MCTI) will once again offer state-of-the-art vocational and technical education training programs this school year in 13 career areas for adults with disabilities.
The areas of study and training include:
• Automotive Technology.
• Certified Nurses Assistant.
• Culinary Arts.
• Graphic Communications.
• Grounds Maintenance.
• Machine Technology.
• Pharmacy Services.
• Office Automation.
• Retail Marketing.
• Building Services (Weatherization).
Registration Day is Sept. 10 for the 10-week fall term. Classes begin Sept. 12.
MCTI is operated by Michigan Rehabilitation Services (MRS) within the Department of Human Services and is located in Barry County in southwest Michigan.
MCTI is the second largest comprehensive rehabilitation training center in the United States and is accredited by the North Central Association Commission on Accreditation and School Improvement and the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities.
MRS employs more than 250 master-degreed rehabilitation counselors who work one-on-one with Michiganders with disabilities who want to go to work. It also assists more than 7,000 individuals with disabilities annually in achieving competitive employment and self-sufficiency. Students must have a qualifying disability and be referred through MRS or other partner agencies to attend MCTI.
