DETROIT, Mich. (WJBK) – We often hear about celebrities supporting charities, but R&B Soul Artist Kem is taking giving back to another level. Through hosting his “Mack & Third” event Kem is motivating, feeding and even honoring Detroit’s homeless people.

“It’s a beautiful thing to see somebody whose been in a situation that I’m currently in right now,” said “T.J.” Taytjuan Hill.
Among the bustling crowd at Cass Park you could find people like “T.J.” Thanks to local charities they ate what may have been their first real meal in a while. Many attendees either homeless or like “T.J.”
Eleven hundred homeless people came to “Mack & Third” at Cass Park just for a free meal and a message of inspiration from the Soul Star – who was right where they were in the early 90s.
